Three emerging composers hear their works performed by the Charles Wood Singers before an esteemed jury comprising our Patron Sir John Rutter, Artistic Director David Hill and Co. Down composer Deirdre McKay. The winning work will receive a future Festival performance and join a growing catalogue of music commissioned and premiered through the Competition. Each composer was invited to write a new choral setting of ‘Great King of Gods’: a text from Henry Ramsden (1833- 1917) and set by Charles Wood in 1912. A unique event in a unique venue.
