The showcase event of the 2026 Festival brings together the Charles Wood Singers, Charles Wood Girls’ Choir, Ruth McGinley (piano), Aimee Banks (winner of the 2026 Charles Wood International Senior Song Competition), and the winner of the 2026 Northern Ireland International Organ Competition. The programme includes the premiere of a newly commissioned work by Bob Chilcott, the winning work from the Charles Wood Composers’ Competition and the NorthernIreland premiere of John Rutter’s Bird Songs, conducted by the composer himself. Alumni of the Charles Wood Singers join current performers in a celebration of Wood’s legacy and 33 years of the Festival, ending the concert with the ever-impressive, Blest Pair of Sirens by Hubert Parry.
