The 2026 Charles Wood Festival opens with a special Centenary Festival of Hymns in association with the Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland, which this year marks the 90th anniversary of its foundation. Presented by Gillian Warson and featuring the Lowry Singers, the service celebrates Charles Wood’s enduring contribution to hymnody and sacred music through congregational singing, choral items and the spoken word. The organist is Ven Dr Peter Thompson, Assistant Organist of St Patrick’s Church of Ireland Cathedral, Armagh.
